Walls On Walls facilitate creative action in community settings

Our work is collaborative – listening, playing, making and doing, together.

Our site-specific projects explore evolving identities and environments with locally connected people.

We believe creative activity has the power to transform individuals and their communities.

Work & Projects

Under the guidance of artists and community workers, participants engage in a wide range of creative methods such as photography, sound recording, drawing, collage, model making and movement to explore spaces and deepen their relationships within the community. This may result in a work of art or it may simply be the process of experimenting with these mediums to explore their relationships to self and other.

    – Esther

  • "It opens up a whole new way of seeing people of the community, what the needs are, what the dislikes are, what the likes are, it's a reflection of what is in the past and what is now – the old and the new"

    – Modu

  • “It feels like the end of the project but also the beginning of something else for those of us that still live here”

    – Alison

  • “We need more than anything to feel part of a community and that we all get on. It’s so important when we feel or are told to feel that there is a lot of division in society. These opportunities to get together and to talk with each other and talk about our lives is really valuable and I really appreciate being a part of it”

    – Pru
