A site-specific audio-visual installation, collaboratively produced with residents of Camelot House for #Camden50.
The wall takes inspiration from a pattern found in concrete paving stones in the internal courtyard of Camelot House. The colour palette and repeated pattern are reminiscent of a 1930s style, as the building dates from 1939. The sound piece takes its inspiration from the fact that Camelot House site was once a reservoir. The piece mixes sounds recorded when a water main broke whilst we were recording alongside field recordings of the area and voices from the community. The piece also borrows 1930s jazz samples samples to weave into the soundscape - a nod to the era of the building and so the visual pattern and colour choices - using old records we found in the Tenants Hall.
